There is hardly any marked difference between Rub-A-Dub and Dancehall. Many believe that Dancehall simply became the preferred name for the Rub-A-Dub music that was developed after 1985.
For though the style of the deejays vary over time, the culture of “toasting” to digital sounds is also present in Dancehall. Both Dancehall and Rub-A-Dub are described in Jamaica as DeeJay (DJ) music.
Dancehall is the most contemporary form of Jamaican music.
Traditional Dancehall Artistes : Admiral Bailey, Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, Papa San, Super Cat, Ninja Man, Beenie Man and Bounty Killa.
