Robbie Shakespeare, a bass guitar (born Robert Shakespeare, 27 September 1953 in Kingston, Jamaica).
The duo Sly and Robbie are perhaps the most prolific artists in reggae music. Together they have produced or played on over 2,000 rythms. Since 1976 the duo has produced beats for artistes from different genres of music around the world.

Pioneers
The first work of Sly and Robbie was the album “Right Time” by Mighty Diamonds in 1976. The duo also created the sound that gave birth to the genre of Rub -A -Dub in 1980
Awards
The duo won the Grammy award for Best Reggae Album in 1999 for the album “Friends” and has been nominated 9 times for this category. Their most recent nomination came in 2015 for the album “The Reggae Power”.
