Yasus Afari launched his 8th album, “Public Secret” at the Red Bones Cafe in Kingston on October 5, 2013. The Album was produced by Senya-Cum Records and Mandeville Music Group. It was recorded mixed and mastered by Yasus Afari and the Dub Vijan Band at the Shelta Recording Studio in Mandeville, Manchester.
The album features 15 tracks which includes 10 original selections written by Afari and 5 original dub versions of selected songs.
Prior to the launch of the album the debut single “Wine Pon Paper” was released on April 16, 2013 and then followed by the singles ‘Poetree Caan Nyam’ and Let’s Talk New York.
Success of The Album
The year 2014 is dubbed “The Year of the Poet” and therefore it is quite significant that an album like Public Secret is experiencing excellent reviews in the music industry in Jamaica and the United States.
The single, Let’s Talk New York has reached number 9 on New York’s Foundation Radio top 30 chart.
The US based Boom One Records out of North Carolina has signed to do remixes of the tracks Wine Pon Paper and Let’s Talk New York. Boom One will also release a music video of the remixed version of Wine Pon Paper.
