JC Lodge

JC Lodge is a reggae singer, actress and artist. She was born June Carol Lodge on December 1,1958 in London England to a Jamaican father and a British mother. She became exposed to Reggae music after she was taken to live in Jamaica as a child.

In 1980 she recorded her debut single “Someone Loves You Honey”, which topped the Jamaican Reggae chart.

In 1982 she released and named her debut album “Someone Loves You Honey”. The title single became the number one selling single in the Netherlands.

In 1988, one of her most popular singles, “Telephone Love” became the first Dancehall-Reggae track to make the Hip Hop and R&B charts in the United States where it topped the charts in New York.

Though most of her albums consist of reggae she also has done songs in R&B and Pop. Lodge is also an accomplished painter who has exhibited in the Kingston Art Gallery. She has also acted in several theatre productions. Her most successful R&B single “Home Is Where The Hurt Is” peaked at number 45 on the US R&B chart.

Her latest album  Passionfruit is scheduled  to be released in Spring of 2015. The album will feature singles such a “The Real Deal”, “Hey You” and “Last Of The Good Guys”
