Raging FyahRaging Fyah is a Jamaican roots reggae band whose founding members are Anthony Watson (drummer), Demar Gayle (keyboardist) and Delroy Hamilton (bassist). They were later joined by Courtland White (guitarist) and Kumar Bent (lead singer).

The band began to emerge in the year 2002 when the founding members met in Kingston as students of the Edna Manley College of the Visual Arts. It was not until 4 years later in 2006 that the band was officially formed and the name Raging Fyah was adopted.

 

Debut Recordings

They began their first studio recordings in 2008.

In 2011, they released their debut album, “Judgement Day”. The title track “Judgement Day” and the single “Far Away” became major hits in Jamaica.

In 2014 they released their second album, “Destiny”.

 

Popular  Contemporary Reggae band

Since 2012 they have established themselves as one of the most popular reggae bands in Jamaica. The band has performed extensively at various shows in Jamaica such as Rebel Salute and Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival. They have also performed in South America as well as at reggae festivals in Europe, such as Rototom Sunsplash, Summerjam and Garance.

 

The Reggae Revival Movement

 Raging Fyay band is considered among  of the pioneers of the new wave of reggae musicians which is widely known in Jamaica as the Reggae Revival Movement. It is a movement which recaptures the roots reggae sound and mood. It  includes Reggae singers/musicians such as ProtojeChronixx, Dre Island, Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid and Jesse Royal
