Wailers 1967-1972 | from Rocksteady to Reggae

Features the Wailers during the Rocksteady era of 1966-1968 and their early Reggae productions with Lee Scratch Perry and The Upsetters. This includes the original albums Soul Rebels (1970) and Soul Revolution (1971) both produced by Lee Perry on his Upsetters Record Label. The work generated by the partnership between Wailers and Lee Perry and The Upsetters redefined the sounds of early Reggae and set the foundation for the subsequent works of Bob Marley and The Wailers. The influences of Perry’s sound is especially noted on albums like “Catch A Fire” and “Burnin'” produced in 1973. Undoubtedly it has impacted and defined the Wailers’ signature sound that the world has come to love.
