Traditional MusicThe traditional folk forms of music in Jamaica was greatly influenced by the traditional drumming and singing by the enslaved Africans.

They have also been influenced to varying degrees by the music of the other cultures with which they have come in contact.

Some of the most popular traditional forms includes secular practices such as Bruckins, Jonkunnu, Dinki-mini, Gerreh, Tambu, Quadrille and religious practices such as Kumina Pukkomani and Zionist Revival. Each has its distinct melodies, rhythms, lyrics and dances.
