Bunny WailerBunny Wailer, born Nevile O’Riley Livingston on April 10, 1947 in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a singer, songwriter and percusionist and founding member of the Wailers group along with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

In 1962 he composed his first song “Pass It On” which was released on the Wailers album ‘Burnin” of 1973.He officially launched his musical career In 1963 when he teamed up with Bob Marley and  Peter Tosh to form a singing group called The Teenagers. The Teenagers were also known as The Wailing Rudeboys, The Wailing Brothers and The Wailing Wailers. Although Bob Marley was lead song of the group, Bunny sang as lead singer for songs like “Who Feels It Knows It”, “I Stand Predominate”, “Sunday Morning” ” Pass It On” and “Hallelujah Time”.

 

Solo Career 

In 1974 he left the Wailers to start his solo musical career. His first solo album was “Blackheart Man” which was released in 1976.

 

Awards

Bunny Wailer has won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1990, 1994 and 1996. In August 2012, he was awarded by the Jamaican government with the honour of Order of Jamica for his contribution to Jamaican music.
